Room 14 Auction

As a class reward today, we had a class auction. Throughout the day, children could earn ‘dollars’ for good and sensible behaviour.  At the end of the day, Whaea Kendyl auctioned off a whole heap of prizes.  Those who had earned the most dollars throughout the day had first pick of the best prizes. We really enjoyed the auction and can’t wait to do it again soon.

Maths Time

Lately for maths, we’ve been learning some new problem solving games which really get our minds thinking.  Here we are having heaps of fun competing with our buddies.

Geometrical Stained Glass Windows

Today for maths, we made geometrical stained glass window Father’s Day cards.  First, we had to fold some black paper in half and then in half again.  Then we had to cut out random shapes and unfold the paper.  The shapes were all symmetrical and looked awesome.  We then glued on pieces of brightly coloured crepe paper to make the stained glass.  We glued the stained glass window onto a piece of card and then wrote a lovely message to our dad’s, or someone else who is special in our lives. 

 

If I had my own adventure island, I would rule the world and everyone would make a statue of me. I’d be the mean queen. If they didn’t do everything then they would be whipped by me and I would have my  own things to myself.

I would be grateful if I went it the Olympics because I would be representing our country. My sport would be BMX riding because I would be good at it. We would have to race other people from other country’s.

Last Friday I enjoyed the mini Olympics. There were thousands of people making Olympic rings, just like on the flag of the Olympics. There was this man dancing funny. He was on a stage and everyone was copying.

This weekend I am going to have a farewell for my cousin because she is going to move over to Australia by my aunties, uncles and cousins. Her name is Tatiana Varu. My dad was going to have his farewell on the same day because it’s his mum. Then my Nan went over to my dad’s house and said my mum was having the farewell first and then he said ok.

Last Friday, Rooms 14, 9, 10 and 2 went to the Olympic

Festival at arena Manawatu. We all had heaps of fun!

In the holidays I went to Wellington and we went to Te Papa. It was so cool because after that we went to the fish and chip shop and then Rumbleland.  There was a park there and a bouncy castle and  it’s got a big side where you can slide or jump down. Then we went back to Palmerston North  and we got McDonalds  and  we got to play on the park. Then we dropped  my  cousin Draddin off and we  went  to my  house  because it was my mums  birthday.

IN THE HOLIDAYS I WENT TO DIADRE’S HOUSE. ON THURSDAY NIGHT ME AND DIADRE’S FAMILY WENT OUT TO THE BACK YARD AND MADE A FIRE IN A RUBBISH THING. WE PUT LOTS AND LOTS OF PAPER IN THE BIN THING. WHEN THE FIRE WAS HIGH MY BABY COUSIN STEVEN PUT A STICK IN THE FIRE. ON FRIDAY I WENT TO FAITHS HOUSE AND WE PLAYED TOUCH. I KEPT ON LOSING. THEN I PLAYED GUTTER BOARD. IF WE GET TO 100 ON THE GUTTER BOARD THEN WE GET SOMETHING COOL.
